About the role

We are a growing technology company building modern digital products and scalable software solutions for businesses. Our team works across web development, backend systems and cloud infrastructure, using modern technologies to create reliable, high-quality products. We are looking for a Junior Backend Developer to join our team, contribute to real projects and develop their skills alongside experienced developers.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
  • Build and integrate REST APIs
  • Work with relational databases and data models
  • Debug and resolve backend issues
  • Implement new backend features and functionality
  • Write unit and integration tests
  • Review and improve existing code
  • Work with frontend developers to integrate APIs
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services
  • Monitor application performance and reliability
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Document APIs and backend functionality
  • Follow established coding and development standards
  • Collaborate with the wider development team

What we are looking for

  • Basic commercial or practical experience with backend development
  • Good understanding of programming fundamentals
  • Experience with at least one backend programming language
  • Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP
  • Basic SQL and database knowledge
  • Familiarity with Git and version control
  • Understanding of JSON and API data structures
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot software
  • Understanding of object-oriented or structured programming
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write clean and readable code
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Attention to detail
